When a family is facing a life-limiting diagnosis, choosing hospice care can feel overwhelming. Families want to know their loved one is in the hands of people who will listen, provide comfort and be there when they need them most.
Hospice of Northeast Missouri, a service of Hannibal Regional, is celebrating two significant quality achievements: a 5-Star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and a deficiency-free triennial certification survey through the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS).
The CMS Hospice Quality Rating system uses feedback from family caregivers to evaluate important aspects of the hospice experience, including communication, timely assistance, treating patients with dignity and respect, managing pain and symptoms, and providing emotional and spiritual support.
“For our team, these quality achievements are about much more than ratings or survey scores,” said Linnette Baker, Director – Hospice of Northeast Missouri. “They reflect the commitment of a team dedicated to providing compassionate, dignified care to patients, caregivers, and families during some of life’s most vulnerable moments.”
